Plot
The film is about a famous actor, director, producer, and screenwriter, Orsen Welles. It mainly focuses on his artworks and drawings.
Star Performance
The Irish narration of Mark Cousins was not that engaging. Instead of his narration, we could have had a lot of Orsen’s real-life incidents told by his daughter, who acted as a consultant in the film. Jack did a good job playing Orsen in some scenes. Beatrice, the daughter of Orsen explains the possessions of her dad nicely and tries to build a connection with the audience.
Analysis
This documentary is a bit different from others. Mark did extensive research and even went through his personal sketchpads and books to know more about him. It is a mix of truth and the imagination of Mark to show a new side of Orsen which is not known to us.
What’s There?
• A fresh take on the documentary.
What’s Not There?
• The narration is not proper.
• The entire movie was only focused on the visuals, and art not on the dialogue.
Verdict
It is more of a scrapbook of Orsen than a documentary on him. So if you want to watch something new about him and don’t mind the narration, then you can watch this.
