Kamal Haasan Dons The Director’s Hat!

Kamal Haasan and his two daughters, Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan, are working together in “Sabaash Naidu.” The first schedule of the film is being shot in Los Angeles in the US. Initially, the film was directed by Rajeev Kumar. As the director fell ill, Kamal decided to direct the film till he gets recovered. When Rajeev fell ill, a week back, Kamal directed a dance sequence with lots of hope that the director will get well soon. Till now, Rajeev Kumar didn’t get back to normal and hence Kamal has decided to direct until he recovers. As Los Angeles play a major part in the film, the team could not get back and hence Kamal wants to complete this schedule without Rajeev. Rajeev was diagnosed with Lyme disease and it seems that it will take a time to recover. Kamal has been shunting between the hospital where Rajeev is admitted and the shooting spot. Kamal has stated, "My director, Rajeev has taken extremely ill. The unfortunate setback occurred when we were on the fourth day of our recce in Los Angeles. He has been diagnosed with Lyme disease. It is a rare infection prevalent in Europe and North America. This is the reason I am now directing the film... I moved in as a standby director hoping my friend, Rajeev, will recover soon. It seems he will, but not in time to finish this film, which is tightly scheduled to end principal shooting by July-end or the first week of August. I am sure when he is up and about he will have many more films to direct."
