Nirmala Seetharam, the Defense Minister, speaks about the Demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes that happened on 8th November, last year. She says that it was not a sudden decision, but was a planned one from 2013 – 2014. She says the day has been celebrated as the Black Money Eradication Day. As per the international survey, the black money would not bring income and the money transaction will be transparent and the trade by everyone is recorded. As our country has 86% cash transaction, the terrorists get everything easily and hence this demonetization system helps us to minimize the terrorists’ activities, says Nirmala. She also says that the Congress Party has been spreading false interpretations to the public. All the money that is deposited during the demonetization policy is not white, informs Nirmala.
