1. In Ghost House Inn (2010)

This is the third part of the 1990 hit film, ‘In Harihar Nagar’, in which Mukesh, Jagadish, Ashokan, and Siddique appear as the main characters. With a blend of horror and comedy, it became a box-office hit of the year. The veteran director ‘Lal’ made the movie under the banner of Lal Creations.

2. Marykkundoru Kunjaadu (2010)

This film by ‘Shafi’ was a chartbuster with ‘Dileep’ and ‘Bhavana’ as the main characters. Biju Menon also plays an inevitable role in this movie, taking it to higher realms of the comic spirit. It ran in the theaters for about 150 days and collected more than 140 million.

3. My Boss (2012)

This film, with Dileep and Mamta Mohandas starring as the hero and heroine, was a top comic hit of the year. Under the director Jeethu Joseph, it tells the story of Priya, an IT firm C.M.O, and her assistant, Manu. Besides having a well-weaved story, this movie is rich in plenty of comic elements that leave the audience laughing throughout. Produced under East Cost Communications, the picture gives an altogether unusual love story of a boss and her assistant.

4. Ring Master (2014)

This movie, under the hit-making combination of actor Dileep, and director ‘Raffi’, tells the story of a dog trainer, Prince, enacted by Dileep. Keerthi Suresh, Honey Rose, Kalabhavan Shajon, and Aju Varghese appear as other main characters. The production coasted an estimated sum of around 8.5 crores, and the film made a collection of more than 16 crores.

5. Ohm Shanthi Oshaana (2014)

It is a romantic comedy directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, with Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim starring as the hero and heroine. With the special appearances of Vineeth Srinivasan, Nikki Galrani, and Lal Jose, the movie turned out to be a complete romantic as well as comic entertainer. It was produced by Alwin Antony, at a low-budget, and made a profit of an estimated nine crores.

6. Vellimoonga (2014)

This was in fact, an experimental film by Jibu Jacob, produced by Sashidharan Ullattil. The special mark of this movie is that the comic elements get dispersed among all the characters, unlike other comedy films in which comedy gets centralized to the hero or a particular character. It is also a satire on the current political situation of Kerala. It gained a box office collection of about 25 crores, making it a top hit of the year.

7. Adi Kapyare Kootamani (2015)

This movie is set in the backdrop of a college hostel. Directed by John Varghese, this film has an excellent combination of horror and comedy. It was a super hit of the year and made a deep impact on the youth. Dhyan Srinivasan, Aju Varghese, Neeraj Madhav, Vineeth Mohan and ‘Mukesh’ play the main characters. It was produced by Friday Film House and hit a box office collection of 13 crores.

8. Two Countries (2015)

Again, the comedy king Dileep with the directorial finesse of Shafi has combined to make yet another comedy blockbuster in 2015. With Dileep and Mamta Mohandas playing the lead roles, it made a collection of 55 crores. Special appearances of the scriptwriter Raffi, Ashokan, Jagadish, Suraj, and Aju Varghese, added to the comic spirit of the movie.

9. Amar Akbar Anthony (2015)

This film, directed by ‘Nadir Sshah’, is a comedy blockbuster of 2015, and it also conveys a socially relevant message. Made at a budget of around 6.5 crores, it made a box office collection of more than 28 crores. ‘Prithviraj’ as Amar, ‘Jayasurya’ as Akbar, and ‘Indrajith’ as Anthony play the protagonists. Connected by a thread of comic elements and incidents of a slum, this film keeps the audience entertained throughout.

10. Kunjiramayanam (2015)

This picture presents an altogether different experience to the Malayalam film industry. The debutant director, Basil Joseph has proved his skills in this movie. Vineeth Srinivasan, Dhyan Srinivasan, Aju Varghese, and Neeraj Madhav play the main characters. The attractive storytelling ability and the artistic finesse of the actors had contributed to the success of the film.
