We all love our film celebrities in reel and real life. Having said that, sometimes their marriages are not a bed of roses. Now let’s see some of the celebrities who decided to part ways in 2016, also wishing the partners a peaceful life in the future.

1. Amala Paul – A.L.Vijay

Popular South Indian actress Amala Paul, who had acted in Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu and had shared screen space with top actors like ‘Vijay’, ‘Vikram’, and Suriya Sivakumar, got married in 2014. She tied the knot to director A. L. Vijay, who also directed her in the hit film ‘Deiva Thirumagal’. They had not been living together since 2015. They filed for divorce by mutual consent in 2016. They also said clearly that there is no demand for alimony from either of their sides.

2. Priyadarshan – Lissy

Priyadarshan is an established director in Malayalam and he has also directed films in Hindi including the Hera Pheri series. Lissy Lakshmi is a renowned actress of the 80s. Lissy got married to Priyadarshan in 1990 and they are blessed with two children. Due to differences, their divorce proceedings commenced in 2014 and finally got over in 2016. It is learnt that Priyadarshan said that Lissy was a good mother and wife, however it was him who was quite egoistic.

3. Divya Unni

Divya Unni is an actress cum dancer (she is an acclaimed dancer) who tried her luck in Kollywood and Mollywood. She was married to her husband Dr. Sudhir Shekharan for 14 years and this marriage came to an end in the year 2016. Divya said that it was unfortunate to put an end to a long relationship. They both have two children together.

4. Shanthi Krishna

Shanthi Krishna is a known name in Tamil and Malayalam films. She got married to Bajore Sadasivan and filed for divorce from him in 2016. This was her second marriage. She was earlier married to the actor ‘Sreenath’. Shanthi Krishna is the sister of Kollywood director Suresh Krissna. She is an acclaimed dancer as well. She had even won the State Award for the Mollywood venture ‘Chakoram’.

5. Soundarya R Ashwin

Soundarya, daughter of legendary actor 'Rajinikanth', and director of the movie ‘Kochadaiiyaan’, has recently confirmed that all is not well between her and her industrialist husband Ashwin Ramkumar. She got married to him in 2010 and they are blessed with a one-year-old son. The couple had been living separately for over a year now.
