Just like some other Hollywood rip-offs, one of Big B’s most memorable performances, Satte pe Satta ripped off the plot, the scenes as well as the title from the Howard Keel starrer “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.”
It is rare to see the father-son duo of the Bachchan family to share the screen, and the equally rare was the pairing of Abhishek and Rani Mukherjee. They were the Bonnie and Clyde of Bollywood. Literally! The film was inspired from the bench marking Hollywood Movie “Bonnie and Clyde.”
Kamal Hassan tickled our funny bones and we can never get enough of our favorite Chachi. But it seems like Bollywood could not get enough of Robin William movies either, and that is why this film was an adaptation of Hollywood’s Mrs. Doubtfire.
We were emotional, inspired and we adored Rani Mukherjee for this movie. However, we wished that the writers put in as much effort as the actors instead of duplicating the screenplay of “The Miracle Worker.”
Remember how you changed a few words of your assignment so the teacher would not catch you? It looks like the writers of this movie took it as a life lesson since it was an adaptation of the Hollywood Movie “The Apartment.”
