Vettam is a comedy-drama loosely based on the movies French Kiss, My Best Friends Wedding, Bellboy and Pyaar To Hona Hi Thaa.
Plot: Gopalakrishnan (Dileep) is a small thief who has stolen a precious chain and is on the run, with a police officer (Radha Ravi) on his trail. On his way to hide in another city and sell it there, he encounters Veena (Bhavna Pani), who is going to the same city to break the marriage of her fiance to a well-to-do man's daughter. Temporarily, Gopi hides the chain in Veena's bag, but later, when it is time to disembark, he can't find it again. So he stays with her and these two become unlikely companions in a long journ...
