St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School in Palayamkottai was where he completed his education. He graduated from Adithanar College of Arts and Science with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (1989-1992). He then moved on to The Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu for Direction and Screenplay Writing from 1992 to 1995. Raman is recognized for Vijay's films Theri and Mersal, where his script and dialogue wowed the audience. He was the writer in Vijay's 'Bigil.' Bigil is his third collaboration of Vasan with director Atlee. He worked as Head Fiction for Vijay Tv before moving into the film industry. He had been with Vijay TV for eight years. He dealt with the subjects in a new way; his serials were natural and genuine.
Vasan is the reason behind Vijay TV's successful serials Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal, Office, and Madurai. These three classic television shows are written by him, enthralled audiences.
