Mugen completed his graduation in Arts from Limkokwing University, Cyberjaya in Malaysia. Mugen started his singing career at an early age, along with his father. His uncle Sathish Rao introduced him into the film industry. He made his debut in Senandung Malam, a Malaysian film. He did a paperboy role that has a limited screen presence.
