Vidwan Ve Lakshmanan was a journalist, producer, lyricist, and astrologer of Indian origin. He worked in the Tamil Film industry and wrote articles for regional magazines in Tamil. He went to Annamalai University in Chennai to study for graduation. After completing his studies he took up teaching at Annamalai University for some time. In 1959, he entered the film industry as a writer and lyricist for the production label Sudarsan Pictures with the movie Aval Yaar. He wrote the dialogues for the movie Hello Mister Zamindar (1965) and the screenplay for Arasa Kattali (1967) and Kavalkaran (1967). The films produced by him include Idaya Veenai (1972) and Pallandhu Vazhga (1975) among others.
