Yamini Ghantasala is an Indian singer who worked in Tamil and Telugu films. She was born in Chennai to parents Shivkumar Ghantasala and Savithri Ghantasala. Yamini is the granddaughter of Ghantasala Balaramayya (Telugu director and actor) and sister of SS Thaman (Playback singer and music composer). She worked in a corporate company for seven years before getting into the music industry. Yamini attended AR Rahman’s school of music, KM Conservatory. She made her debut with a Tamil song in 2016 with Aagayamey, but the fame came with a Telugu song called Sakhiya for the film Gudachari. She sang songs like Paluke Bangarama for the film Operation Goldfish, Gira Gira Gira for Dear Comrade, and Yemaindi for the movie Rangula Raatnam. She got great reviews for Gira Gira Gira and crossed 4 million views in Youtube. She released a new instrumental single, Sky. Yamini has a large following on Instagram. She was nominated was South Indian International Movie Awards for the song Gira Gira Gira. She likes to work out and does yoga. She is fond of Formula 1 races and listens to a variety of music like EDM, Pop, and traditional music.
