Rathna is a famous newsreader, show anchor, cum entrepreneur. Rathna was born and brought up in Chennai. Her parents are TV Sivaraman and Kaveri. She is the eldest one and has 2 younger sisters and a brother, Rajesh. She is an M.com graduate. Rathna did her graduation at SDNB Vaishnav College for Women. She has also completed her ICWA. Rathna is married to Arvind Venkatraman and has two kids: daughter Advika and son Anirudh. She works for Sun TV in new anchoring and hosting shows. She owns Anika Villa in Chennai, a rental villa for shooting and enjoying holidays. Rathna had always dreamt of becoming a newsreader since she was ten. She debuted as a newsreader on Doordarshan in 1989. Later, she shifted to Sun TV. She is one of the few newsreaders who has been in the media on screen for nearly 4 decades. Besides being a newsreader and news anchor, she also reviewed movies on the show Thirai Vimarsanam on Sun TV.
