Shalini Balasundaram

Shalini Balasundaram is a Malaysian film director/actress. She was born on October 25th, 1993, in Malaysia Selangor to her parents Bala-Sundaram and Indraadevi. Shalini was the only child of her parents.

She belongs to a very middle-class family where her parents run a general store. She was brought up in Kualalumpur with her parents. Shalini completed her primary school study in Methodist Girls School (MGS) and continued her secondary school study in SMK Bukit Bandaraya. Her desire to be a filmmaker has developed since she was 15 years old.

She is a mama's girl and watched so many movies during her childhood as her mom loves directors like K Balachander, Balu Mahendra, and Manitranam. At such a young age, Shalini watched movies that were just her mom's favorite films.

This has ultimately made her a very bold girl since her teenage. Her dream of being a filmmaker became a decision at the age of 15. Shalini told her mom that she would make films like Avatar and pursue her further studies in Limkokwing University.

She knew that she had lied to her mom, but she made her path in the industry. Completing four years of foundation degree, Shalini successfully graduated from Limkokwing University in the year 2014.
