Laila Mehdin is an Indian actress who entered the industry in the year 1996 with the movie” Dushman Duniya Ka” in Hindi. Next, she acted in three Telugu movies and finally became a successful Tamil film star. This Goan beauty stole the hearts of many with her dimples! They are so deep that they even appear when she talks or giggles. After putting in countless years of training and practice on ballet dance, she ultimately began to search a career in cinema. It was indeed a pity that she never used her ballet background in the world of cinema as she did not get chance to do so. She also mentioned having learnt ballet dance in Royal Academy of Dancing in London. Her charm and charisma, including her "next-door girl" image created a phenomenon in Kollywood. She ventured into films with Tamil film ‘Kallalaga’, the film turned out to be a commercial failure. But she was noticed by film producers and was cast in innumerable Tamil films. Her innocent smile made people crazy. 

In ‘Pithamagan’, she won the Filmfare best actress award. The film was a path-breaking trend-setting film and she was considered as a successful new comer and many felt that she's here to stay in Kollywood. She appeared in many critically acclaimed films such as Dhil, Nanda, Unnai which re-defined her position as the leading lady of the 2000’s. She was praised for her look and acting in these films. She had acted films with Vikram, Ajit and Prashant. Her role in ‘Ullam Ketkumae’ won her praises from masses even and she became a successful actress in Kollywood. In 2006, she tied her knot with an Irani businessman (Mehdin). She dated him for 8 years before marriage. 

Now she is blessed with two sons. She claims that she has no intention of returning to films in the near future. After ruling the silver screen for 10 long years, she retired from acting and wants to lead a life of domestic bliss.

Actress Kutty Padmini was a child artist in black and white era, who had enacted with top artists in the industry. In ‘Kuzhandhaiyum Deivamum’ she had played the twin character with the right mix of mischief and innocence. By the time, she got offers in ‘Kaathiruntha Kanngal’ and ‘Paasamalar’ and acted as junior Savitri, she was a changed kid-star. She had developed confidence, panache, and even a sense of ease in talking to people. It showed on-screen too. She was absolutely mesmerizing in those two films. She got her first break as a child artistes when she was just three-year old. Her first film was ‘Bhagyalakshmi’. When Sridhar had cast her in ‘Nenjil Oru Aaalayam’, she achieved so much stardom and popularity in South that when the same film was re-made in Hindi as ‘’Dil Ek Mandir’’, she got a chance to act with Meena Kumari even. She was the last child of the couple Srinivasa Chakravarthy – Radha Bhai. Her popularity as supporting actress in films like ‘’Avargal’’ and ‘’Aval Appadithan’’ (Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan) and in’’ Kan Simitturm Neram’’ which was a debut for actor Sarath Kumar, became highly popular. She was supporting actress in Tamil cinema till 80’s. Later on, she moved to the small screen. She is currently producing and directing ‘Romapuri Pandiyan’ a historical serial telecasted in a popular Tamil TV channel. She is also a creative director of a TV serial on Hindu saint Ramanujar that was penned by Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Kutty Padmini received the Lifetime Achievement award in the South Indian Cinematographers Association (SICA) Awards 2015.

Films came to Lakshmi Menon at an age when she hadn’t started thinking about her career. Impressed by her dance show on TV, Malayalam director Vinayan offered her a role in his film. She got her break in Raghuvinte Swantham Raziya when she was in her eighth class. Soon, she played a lead role with Vineeth in Ideal Couple, directed by Ali Akbar. It was a year later when she got her first break in Tamil movie Kumki (2012) that made her lucky mascot in Kollywod. When she was running high on a success wave with Kumki, her next film, Naan Sigappu Manithan (2012) with Vishal made her as the rising star in Kollywood. Today, she is known as the girl with the Midas touch, whose very presence in any film guarantees a hit. At age of 19, she has attained the dizzy heights of stardom as her successful films Sundarapandian, Pandiya Naadu, Naan Sigappu Manithan, Manjapai and Jigarthanda proves it so. She is also acting with Ajith as his sister in Thala 56 which is due for release in Diwali. It is reported that she has sung a song in an upcoming film 'Filter Coffee' directed by Raghav with debutant Rama Subramanian as the music director. This star was born to a Dubai-based artist Ramakrishnan and dance teacher Usha Menon. She started dance at her age of 3 and learnt Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Kathakali. As a teenage girl, she also took her modeling career seriously and appeared in TV advertisements (Fair and Lovely& Josco jeweler). She has passed her plus two exam and she has joined a popular institute in Bengaluru to learn Fashion design technology where she will have to attend 100 days of regular classes. She had taken this decision so that she can concentrate even in acting seriously.
