Yuvan started working as an Assistant Director to his father in the 2010 Tamil film Thambi Arjuna. His debut as an actor was in his father’s directorial film Pasakara Nanbargal in 2011, where he was credited as Ajmal Khan. However, the film received negative reviews from the critics and fared less at the box-office. His breakthrough film was in M. Anbazhagan’s Tamil drama film Saattai in 2012.
