Udhaya Raj

Udhaya Raj is an actor who works predominately in Tamil film industry. He has been popular for his performances in various Tamil language films like imi ellam suagme, thalaivaa, etc. Udhaya debuted his career in the Indian cinema in the year 1998. He received all the guidance and training required from his father and brother who also work in the industry.

He is the son of the well-acclaimed producer AL Azhagappan and is also the brother of the noted director Vijay. The actor married kirthika in August 2007. Udhaya started his career with the movie ini ellam sugame in 1998. Produced by his father himself the movie revolved around Arvind and Nandini's love story which is interrupted when another girl also falls in love with him.

Released on 18th march udhaya did a cameo role in this picture. He debuted as a lead actor with the film Tirunelveli. Directed by Bharati Kannan, the plot revolves around a highly respected man known for his truthful nature. The story takes a turn when this nature of his brings problems in his family.

Starred opposite Vindhya, the film did not do well and received average and poor reviews from the viewers and critics. Following this kalakalappu was released on 27th July 2001. It is another venture of his father based on the emotional drama of two couples.

This picture brought to him some positive reviews. His next project released in 2002 titled shakkalakka baby. He got a chance to act opposite Vindhya again, but due to problems in dates and schedules, it was canceled. Another picture titled asamy failed to release and udhaya, at last, was viewed in the cinemas performing in Ganapathy vanthachu.

Besides these, the other projects udhaya has been starred in are unnai kan theduthe and poova thalaiya in 2009 and 2011. Prior to this, the actor has worked in kadhal jaathi and vinnai Thandi varuvaayaa, but the films did not release.

Later vinnai Thandi varuvaayaa hit the cinemas as unnai kan theduthe in 2009. Another release of 2011 was raa raa in which he acted as Bharathi. Poova thalaiya also received the same. In 2013 he came up with his brother's film thalaivaa. Released on 9th August, the film revolves around a young businessman whose father is a terrorist which he finds only when he visits him for seeking blessings for marriage. His latest release has been a horror picture titled Aavi Kumar.
