Abhi Saravanan is a budding actor in Tamil cinema, who hailed from the Temple city, Madurai. Abhi Saravanan’s original name is Saravana Kumar. He changed his name to Abhi Saravanan, which became his stage name. Furthermore, the first half of his name, “Abhi”, denotes “Abhishek”, who is his friend that played a major role in helping him enter the film industry. At present, “Abhishek is no more”, says Abhi Saravanan. He made his debut through the movie, “Attakathi”, starred by Dinesh. Abhi Saravanan acted as the friend of Dinesh in this movie. After the success of Attakathi, he got a chance to act in the movie, “Kutti Puli”, with the actor-cum-director, Sasi Kumar. While he was doing these two movies, he was offered to act in the movie, “Kerala Nattilam Pengaludane”, as a hero. This movie was directed by S. S. Kumaran. Ilavarasu

Ilavarasu is the cinematographer turned actor in Tamil cinema. He was born in the year 1964 in Melur in Madurai. His original name was Ilavarasan and his cinema friends called him Ilavarasu and the name stayed with him, till now. He was popular as a cinematographer in the year 1996, with the film Panchalankurichi with Prabhu and Madhubala in the lead. In 1997, he was offered with another Prabhu movie named Periya Thambi, which was directed by Chithra Lakshmanan, who is the popular producer and character artist now. In 1998, Ilavarasu cinematographed two movies named Iniyavalae and Ninaithen Vandhai. The two movies, which he did in the year 1999, bagged him with the awards as a Best Cinematographer and the awards are given by the Tamilnadu Government. The award winning movies are Manam Virumbudhae Unnai and Veeranadai. He has also cinematographed the movies like Aezhayin Sirippil and Sabash. In total, Ilavarasu has cinematographed 13 movies. His acting career started with Mudhal Mariyadhai, a Bharathiraja movie. He acted as a photographer in that movie. Ilavarasu assisted stills Ravi and joined as an assistant to B. Kannan, the popular cinematographer, who was seen in most of the films of the veteran director Bharathiraja. Ilavarasu got a good role in the Cheran’s movie Porkalam and after the success of the movie, he came to the limelight as a known actor. He was initially offered with more villainous characters. He minimized those villain roles and started to do the character roles. He is very popular for his comedy roles in Chennai 28 and Imsai Arasan 23 aam Pulikesi. He is doing the father role to the popular heroes and the heroines, at present. Ilavarasu has also acted in Malayalam, Oriya and Kannada movies.
