Sathish Suriya is a film editor, who predominantly works in Tamil, Telugu language films but, he even has edited Hindi movies. He was an editor with Indian television channel, Apt TV. Later, he got associated with Mani Ratnam’s production house ‘Madras Talkies’, where he joined the production unit of Mani Ratnam as an assistant.

This was the biggest break for him. Very few get chance to associate with someone like Mani Ratnam. Then Satish Suriya came into close contact with Sreekar Prasad, who has won a national award in Film editing profession. Satish worked with all Mani Ratnam’s movies such as Five Star (2002), Aayitha Ezhuthu (2004), Guru (2007) and Raavanan (2010) which was edited by Sreekar Prasad.

After observing the legendary editor Sreekar, he managed to choose a different angle in his career. He became an independent editor with V Priya's movie 'Kannamoochi Yenada' that released on Deepavali 2007. In 2012, he had edited a movie ' Naan' which released in various languages.

It was Vijay Antony's film and received critical acclaim too. In 2014, he worked as an editor for a movie 'Oru Oorla Rendu Raja' which was directed by R Kannan. The film featured Vimal, Priya Anand, and Soori in leading roles. His most prolific work till date is, he worked as an editor in Sudha Kongara Prasad's bilingual films, Irudhi Suttru and Saala Khadoos (2016).

This editor could really handle the Hindi language and understood the nativity of the language for Hindi version which is a real hallmark for any South Indian film editor. In this year, two of his films got released. One is, ' Kattappava Kanom' which was directed by Mani Seiyon that had Sibi Sathyaraj and Aishwarya Rajesh in lead roles.

Another movie, which he had edited include ' Nibunan' which was released in July 2017, this film was Arjun's 150th film. The film had an ensemble cast of Arjun, Prasanna, Vaibhav, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar.
