Thurai Nagarajan is a writer cum director working in the Tamil TV industry. He was born and brought up in Thenthamaraikulam in Kanyakumari. Thurai Nagarajan is married to Jayanthi and has two children: a daughter and a son.
Thurai Nagarajan also writes columns in weekly and monthly journals. He has written short stories and novels under the pen name Vijaya Jayanthi. He wrote a book, Gavanikkapadadha Kaaviya Pookal, which has 22 stories. The stories depict the life history of 21 historical women, including Madhavi, Manimegalai, Agaligai, Ambai, and Sikandi. All these women are from the Ramayana and Mahabharata periods.

Besides writing novels and short stories, Thurai Nagarajan has released a lot of research papers related to ancient Tamil, culture, and medicine. He is a lyricist, too. He has written devotional songs.
