Sy Gowtham Raj is an Indian film director who has worked predominately in the south Indian film industry. Raj was born on 12 February 1986 in Aranthangi, Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu. He got his degree in BA English from Alagappa University, and later, he went to MGR Government Film and Television Institute. In the year 2019, he made his debut in the film industry. In 2019 he was the writer and director of the film "Raatchasi." It was a women empowerment film.
It was released on 4 July 2019. Jyothika Saravanan, Hareesh Peradi, Poornima Bhagyaraj were in the cast of the film. The film revolves around a principal of a rural school who saves the school from the clutches of politicians and international school owners. He has won the JFW Award 2020 and was also honored by the Minister of Education of Malaysia for his film.
