Aadhaar is being made by director Ramnath Palanikumar, who previously worked on the movies Ambasamudram Ambani and Thirunaal. A "hard-hitting drama depicting the lives of a few characters from the impoverished parts of the society," is how he characterizes the film. " The film I'm making will be considerably different from my previous work. Ambasamudram Ambani and Thirunaal were both high-quality commercial movies. However, Aadhaar will be more serious and authentic. The filmmaker, who has been on the road with this subject for four and a half years, claims that it will also be quite interesting for the spectators.
