Raju Murugan was a writer, journalist, and screenwriter. He then turned to become a film director. He started his directing work in the year 2014, with the movie Cuckoo. In the year 2016, Thozha was the film, in which he didn’t direct but was the writer. Then in the same year, he did another movie named Joker, which was both directed and scripted by Raju.In the year 2019, he got two films named Gypsy and Mehandi Circus, which was written by Raju, but only the Gypsy has been directed by him. The cinema named Joker has honored by the Filmfare award for the best film. It also got the national film award for the best feature film in Tamil.

Ranjit Jeyakodi

Ranjit Jeyakodi is an upcoming South Indian movie director and screenplay writer. He made his debut into the Tamil Film Industry early this year with the release of his first directorial film, “Mellisai” which released on 25 January 2016. The young director was born on 27 September 1984 into a Hindu family in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Working as an associate to director Ram. Ranjit was determined to do movies from his Loyola days where he was studying Visual Communication. Ranjit Jeyakodi is still a maturing director; a new comer in the Tamil Film Industry. His first and only directorial venture “Mellisai” which just released this year was an off the conventions film featuring the movie stars Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie in lead roles. Along with directing the film, Ranjit is the one who has written the script as well. Dinesh Krishnan has done the cinematography and it was produced under the banner of Rebel Studio Productions. Mellisai is the story of modernized urban life. According to the director Ranjit, the principal characters in the movie are in one way or the other is related to music, hence the title of the movie is set to as Mellisai which plainly means ‘Melody.’ In the movie, Vijay plays the role of a music director who is working on a music album while Gayathrie plays a violin teacher in the film. Even Sonia Deepti has a cameo appearance in the movie. While talking in an interview with the Deccan Chronicle, when asked how he convinced Vijay Sethupathi for the lead role in a debutant director’s movie, he replied that when he narrated the script to Vijay, the actor was impressed. He was impressed by the script and didn’t worry about who would be directing it. “Mellisai” shows Vijay Sethupathi in a different light playing a fresh character. In praise of his lead actor, Ranjit has been heard saying that Vijay is a dedicated and versatile actor who molds himself into the character he is portraying. The film is said to be packed with surprises as it doesn’t have much room for romance and a lot of room for the depth of the story itself.

Deekay is an Indian movie director who has made films in Kollywood. Deekay made his directorial debut when he filmed Yaamirukka Bayamey. Deekay cast Krishna, Rupa Manjari, Anaswara Kumar, and Karuna. Interestingly, the previous name was Illa Aanalum Iruuku before changing it into its current one. It released on 9 May 2014. Surprisingly, Yaamirukka Bayamey became one of the critically acclaimed Tamil flicks of 2014. In its review, Sify hailed the efforts of Deekay and wrote that every cinema enthusiast should get happy with the arrival of the young filmmaker. Yaamirukka Bayamey earned over five crores at the Box-Office. In a press conference, Deekay thanked the fans for giving love to his motion picture. Deekay also mentioned that he analyzed every aspect of the script before shooting the film. Deekay acknowledged that most of the viewers did not like the initial 20 minutes of the movie. However, Deekay defended his decision by emphasizing the importance of the scene which is crucial for the plot. Deekay did not forget to thank his team for their immense contribution to making the project a memorable one. In 2016, Deekay turned up with his second venture Kavalai Vendam. It starred Jiiva and Kajal Aggarwal as the male and female protagonist respectively. Producer Elred Kumar signed Deekay for Kavalai Vendam after achieving fame for YB. The crew could not finish the film in time due to 2016 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. Alongside its Telugu dubbed version, Kavalai Vendam released on 24 November 2016. But the movie could not impress the audience. While filming the song, Kajal Aggarwal became a prankster as she dragged Deekay into the swimming pool where the artists were enacting a dance sequence. In 2017, Deekay addressed the rumors which suggested that he would work with Nayanthara. Deekay told the reporters that a studio asked him to write a script for Nayanthara’s upcoming film. However, the plans did not work out due to unforeseen circumstances. Deekay confided that he wished to make Yaamirukka Bayamey’s sequel. But Deekay is not sure of directing the second installment. Deekay is currently working on a Tamil comedy flick. Deekay has considered Kajal Aggarwal for the lead role, but he has not announced his decision. Deekay shocked everybody when the director tweeted that he would retire from Kollywood. Later, Deekay came clean on this issue and clarified that the tweet was an expression of his emotional outburst. He also expressed his concern for his mother who was not in good health. As a result, it made Deekay to tweet a surprising decision.
