Plot
Maaran, from a backward background, is in love with Devaki, from a dominant caste in their village. Due to some conflict, Maaran’s community suffered water scarcity, as the supply was cut. The communal issue is now transferred to a linguistic issue, after they move to work in a Karnataka factory. Did the communal issues get solved? What is the condition of the village people who moved to the other state for a better living?
Star Performance
Harisankar did a good job and played well in the intense sequences. Sangeetha shared a good chemistry with him and performed neatly.
Analysis
Ezhil started the film by discussing different social issues. His shift from a village in Tamilnadu to Karnataka is good. But, he is unable to bring a strong output. The communal discrimination genre is constantly tested and tried umpteen times in the Indian cinema. Though the method of execution is different, not all the makers pass this test. Besides this, the screenplay is slow, and the songs fuel the fire. The love track between the Tamil and Kannadiga didn’t favour the plot, though it is well-tried. The director has tried to raise many questions about societal issues, but he is unable to accomplish the film to the fullest.
