Arun Prabhu Purushothaman

Born on June 14, 1989, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Arun Prabhu Purushothaman is a director and writer, who works predominantly in the Kollywood cinema. He wanted to become a Samurai; an instructor; a yogi; it was particular and continued changing each day in his childhood days. He read Tamil literature and composing used to be a fun piece of everyday life. His principle side interest was watching films; the manifestations of world experts, for example, GilloPontecorvo and Jean-Luc Godard inspired him. Observing the world and composing his contemplations as screenplays became his habit. He joined the rundown of top-notch debutant directors of 2017. Arun has been a part of acclaimed Tamil serial Annamalai which stars Sivakumar, Radhika Sarathkumar and others in lead parts. He played the character called, 'Shiva.' He was acted in numerous different serials, after which he completed his DFT graduation inM.G.R.FilmInsitute. Afterward, he filled in as an associate director for K.S.Ravikumar in the movie Man Madan Ambu, a romantic comedy starring R. Madhavan, Kamal Haasan, and Trisha Krishnan. Arun debuted as a director with socio-political drama movie name Aruvi featuring many newcomers such as AditiBalan as Aruvi, Anjali Varadhan as Emily aka Jessica, Pradeep Antony as Peter and many more. It is the film about an innocent young lady conceived and raised in the midst of the regularly developing eco-social-consumeristic condition thinks that it’s hard to fit in the general public. She chooses to take it hard on the people. Not only directed but also written by Arun. The movie Aruvi featured at various motion picture festivals within India and in many countries, such as the Shanghai International Film Festival of 2016, before being discharged globally on 15 December of 2017. The movie distributed to over sixty screens across Sri Lanka, the United States, Singapore, and Malaysia. Prime Video acquired digital rights. Channel Star Vijay brought the satellite rights of the movie. Amazon has acquired the digital rights of Aruvi. Aruvi got positive reviews upon discharge. Critics were especially keen to the exhibitions of the protagonist Aditi Balan and the supporting cast, and the movie's direction. It got across the board recognition and appreciation. It was a blockbuster earning 35 times its financial plan. Rajinikanth, the superstar, also loved the movie and called the director to appreciate his work. After the release of the motion picture, there was a controversy about the movie’s plot plagiarized from an Egyptian film Asmaa. Arun addressed the allegations in an interview by talking about both the motion pictures and asked to compare them.
