A Jagannathan was a director who predominantly worked in the Tamil Film Industry. He was born on 26th November 1965 in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. He was inclined towards cinema from a very young age. Jagannathan worked as an assistant director to T Prakash Rao and Neelakantan, before venturing out on his own. He made his directorial debut in the 1973 drama-film “Manipayal. Master Shekhar, Baby Indra, and Jayanti starred in the motion picture. MS Viswanathan composed the songs and background score for the motion picture. The movie released in 1973 to widespread critical acclaim and was a commercial success.
Jagannathan directed several films that were critically acclaimed and commercially successful. Some of his prominent works are Moondru Mugam(1982), Vellai Roja(1983), Kadhal Parisu(1983), and Watchman Vadivel(1994). He passed away on 7th October 2012.
