K.T Balasubramaniem

K.T. Balasubramaniem is an Indian cinematographer. He works predominantly in the South Indian film industry. He was born on 18th August 1966 and comes from the beautiful place of Southern India called Karaikudi situated in Tamil Nadu. He has completed his education from Thirupattur. He was with P.C. Sreeram as an assistant for a very long time. He learned all aspect of cinematography and finished his skills under him. Working with P.C. Sreeram got him opportunities to work for the acclaimed movies like Kuruthipunal and Thevar Magan.

His sheer passion and diligent nature got the attention of everyone toward him and so does of multitalented actor Padmashree Kamal Haasan gave him the chance to be the Director of Photography for his home production venture Ladies special. We witnessed his great work of cinematography in the movies like Iraniyan, Puli, Pithamagan, Kathakali, etc. He marked his debut as a cinematographer in the movie called Iraniyan. The movie was passed based on pre-independence era. His work in Pithamagan was very appreciated as well as the movie 180 got him credits for using various innovative lighting techniques in the movie. Along with such talent, he is also BSc in Physics. His spouse is E. Mala. She is a famous newsreader on television. The couple has two children Karun and Kavin.
