Jagdesh Karthik

Jagdesh Karthik serves as a cinematographer in the Indian film industry. He is from the capital city of Tamil Nadu. He went to ELM. Fabricius Hr. Secondary School for his schooling and attended St. Thomas College for graduation. He is often called “JK” by people in his surroundings. At the age of 12, he started his career as a photographer, which led him to move into the advertising field as he slowly made progress. Moving further ahead, he got a few chances to work as an assistant designer, image retoucher, cinematographer, and so on. His loads of experience have given him the confidence and skills to work on a project as a head designer himself.

Jagdesh joined NFDC (National Film Development Corporation) in 2015 as a trainer and was successful in training more than six hundred students in the photography and cinematography department in a year. He joined the IT corporation, Wipro, in the following year to refine his knowledge of advertising. His passion for the camera and hard work explains his 8 years of experience. Jagdesh has contributed to the advertising sector through his works like product shoots, food photography, TV commercials, UV and indoor shoots, ad films, and commercial shoots. Some renowned brands of his product shoots include CABO rum, Lakmé, Hudabeauty, Johnson’s Baby, and so on. He collaborated with some popular ad agencies, like Octopoda Advertising Agency.

The journey of Jagdesh Karthik in the cinema sector has taken a big leap from where he first started. He worked as a cinematographer and assistant director in the Tamil short film “ Karma Click to look into! >> Read More... ,” directed by Balaji Viramuthu. It is a thriller/horror genre film. He also worked on the 2023 Tamil action-thriller movie “Thunivu” with the cinematography team. His 2024 projects include Suriya and Ameer Sultan's movie, Vaadivasal, directed by Vetrimaran.
