Arvind Krishna is an eminent cinematographer, producer, and actor of Indian origin. He has contributed majorly to the South Indian film industry. He has given many popular T.V. shows. Recognising his contribution to the film industry, he was felicitated with the Distinguished Cinematographer honor by Rocheston Accreditation Institute,
. He was born on 11th of May, in New Delhi.
He completed his schooling from Vidya Mandir, Mylapore. During his childhood, he travelled across Delhi and Chennai frequently. He graduated from Loyola College, Chennai with a Professional Graduate Degree in Visual Communication. He had a strong background in the film industry. His father, S Krishnan was one of the finest producers in the television industry. He was the first to produce a T.V. Series,
for Doordarshan. He even possessed a film laboratory, Aarkay Home Movies. He also owned a production company called Ark Media.
Motivated by his father’s assets and work he decided to follow his footsteps. Today he has a promising career in the films and television medium. Arvind worked as an intern under P. C. Sreeram (known as the Guru of Cinematography) for six years. He got great opportunities to work in the cinematography department and exerted on many ad promotions and campaigns. He even got little exposure to the television industry and quality films. Having gained enough experience, Arvind decided to work independently. Soon he met Selvaraghavan, a film director.
Selvaraghavan appointed Arvind as his chief camera head for a film Kadhal Kondein, 7G Rainbow Colony and Pudhupettai. Subsequently, Arvind pooled in with Gautam Menon, a legendary producer and director. Together they produced Pachakilli Muthucharam. Kuselan is another noted film where Arvind collaborated with P. Vasu.
Poi Solla Porom
brought Arvind to work with A.L. Vijay. During 2012, he resurrected his father’s production company Ark Media with a film named Dharmayutham. Dharmayutham was highly praised for its legal drama.
He himself handled being the creative head and producer for the same series. The series was about Raja Krishnamoorthy, Abbas Evam’s
. With the help of A.L. Abanindran as the director, he successfully completed the first season and is ready to launch the second season soon. The first series was broadcasted for 5 months with no less than 104 episodes.
Ark media is still one of the pre-production companies for many other series. Arvind Krishna has also tried his hand at acting and played a role in Padmashri Kamal Hassan's police story Kurudhipunal as Dhanush. He got huge appreciation for this role. He was also noted in Rajeev Menon’s
as the lead’s best friend. Adding up, he had a cameo in Poi Solla Poram and Theeratha Vilayatu Pillai.
