Priyadarshini is a Tamil TV actress/compere, who is well known for her charming manner of comparing her shows. She is also the sibling of Divyadarshini, another famous compere. She was born in Singapore and brought up in Chennai. Her father passed away in her early ages and she was brought up by her mother.

Priyadarshini started her career in modelling and acted in a commercial for a soap in 1998. She then appeared in DD’s ‘Vizhudugal’, which she claims, is still close to her heart. Her performance won her a chance in Sun TV, where she started t grow enormously. She hosted over 20 programs in the Sun network and still continues to be a part of it.

Priyadarshini is a good dancer. She won the Best female dancer award in Vijay TV’s ‘Boys vs. Girls’ and was the title winner of Kalaignar TV’s ‘Maanada Mayilaada’ pairing with Bala. She won the 'Mylapore Academy award' for The Best Actress for the serial ‘Ethanai Manidargal’. She has also acted in serials like ‘Kolangal’, ‘ Vasantham’ etc.

She got into a controversy when she hugged Kamal Hassan in the game show ‘ Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi’ (the Tamil version of Kaun Banega Crorepati). Some political parties accused her of tormenting Tamil Nadu’s culture by hugging and kissing in public, that too in a game show that is telecast worldwide. However, nothing big happened and the incident fizzled out.

Priyadarshini appeared in a cameo role in the movie ‘Puli Varuthu’ as herself and was casted in a few other Tamil movies in negligible roles.

She came into this field under the compulsion to make her elder sister and brother study and to meet her family’s ends.   Dhivyadharshini was born in Chennai to Tamil Brahmin parents.
