Chidambaram Sundaram Jayaraman, known as CS Jayaraman is broadly respected as an outstanding character, melodic chief, and playback vocalist. Jayaraman was born on 6 January 1917 and began his acting career in Tamil movies in 1934. His unique voice and fluent Tamil made him famous. (1934), Bhakta Duruvan (1935), Nalla Thangaal (1935), Leelavathi Sulochana (1936), Izhantha Kaadhal (1941), Poompaavai (1944) and Krishna Bhakti (1948). Jayaraman also served as the music executive for the Tamil movies like Udayananu Vasantham (1946) and Ratha Kanneer (1954), he also coordinated the music for movies such as Vijayakumari (1950) and Krishna Vijayam (1950) during that time.
He also sang numerous songs that were very famous in Tamil movies from the 1940s to the 1960s. Jayaraman was very fluent and knew many languages apart from Tamil, he had also sung many tunes in Kannada as well making him the master of his art. One of the Kannada songs, Shivappa Kayo Tande became a gigantic hit and still airs to date. Jayaraman did not only work as a melody artist in the film industry, rather he is one of the few artists who has performed in Thirukkural. Jayaraman tragically died on January 29, 1995, just 23 days before his 78th birthday.
