While two daughters left theater work after they got married, her son, Kishore and another daughter, Lakshmi are still active in the theater industry. His son was ailing with a kidney problem, and therefore, she decided to act in movies only for ailing her son Kishore, who was a mimicry artist in Malayalam movies. However, that is not all that was done by actress Sethulakshmi.
She made her debut in Mollywood with TV serial ‘Suryodayam’, which was aired on Doordarshan in 2006. The serial was directed by Balanchandra Menon. She played the role of the mother of actor Indrajith in this movie. She then acted in another movie called, ‘How Old Are You,' which is a 2014 Malayalam drama and was regarded as Manju Warrier's comeback movie. Manju was acting in a film after a 14-year sabbatical. The film flopped, but her acting went noticed. This film was a remake of Jyothika’s starrer ‘36 Vayadhanile’. Her latest release was ‘ Utopiayile Rajavu’, which had Mammootty and

Nevertheless, she faced those situations in life with strong conviction and was able to establish herself as an actress at the age of 70, when film artists leave the cinema. She received Kerala’s State Film Award for best-supporting actress for the year 2014.
