P C Thomas

P.C. Thomas was born on 31^st October 1950 in Kanjirappally, Kerala. He is an advocate by profession and Indian Politician. He is the fourth child of P.T. Chacko and Mariyamma Chacko, Pullolil House. He belongs to Kerala Congress (National Democratic Alliance) political party. His spouse is Marykutty Thomas. He has two sons and one daughter. He was also a politician in Indian politics. He was a member of the Indian Constituent Assembly representing Travancore-Cochin from 1949. Mr. P.C. Thomas was a member of Lok Sabha for consecutive terms from 1989 to 2009. He is also the Chairman of ‘Karshaka Sanghatana Aikyavedi,’ a farmer’s non-political organization which is a platform of several associations of various types of farmer’s organizations in Kerala. He was elected as a member of the 6^th Bar Council of Kerala in 1986. He failed in his first contest in the General election from Vazhoor Legislative Assembly Constituency in 1987. In 2004 he contested as a candidate of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and defeated both the candidates of United Democractic Front (UDF) and LDF. His victory was a landmark victory in the political history of Kerala State. He serves people especially farmers, laborers, fishermen, etc. He has also filed about 15 public interest litigations as part-in-person, in the High Court of Kerala and Supreme Court of India, for protecting the various rights of the farmers, laborers, fishermen and common men. P.C. Thomas has suggested that the coin’ logo should be written both in English and Hindi when Finance Minister P.
