Kailas Menon is a Malayalam film industry music composer. He is from Thrissur, Kerala, India. He now lives in Kochi, Kerala. Kailas Menon released his first album titled ‘Snehathode’ at the age of 16. In this album Singer Jyotsana who was one of his classmates sang one of the songs and the other singers were state award winner Asha G Menon, Afsal and Madhu Balakrishnan.
His Parents was not convinced initially, but then they started supporting him after seeing his passion for music. After completing his studies in Visual communication and sound engineering in 2007, he started making jingles for various types of ad films. He started his career as an assistant of composer Ouesppachan. Ouesppachan’s keyboard programmer was Gopi Sunder and when his sound engineer left Kailas got his chance to work with him for about two years. At the same time, he got to compose for an ad after which he got to compose for a famous jewelry ad. The jingle got catchy and bought him many other projects after that ad.
He has worked for almost 1000 ad films till now. He has worked in 5 different languages, namely Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Arabic and Malayalam. He entered in Mollywood in 2011 with the film Pakarnnattam directed by Jayaraj. Pakarnnattam is award-winning film released in 2011. He has been working for the Malayalam music industry for more than 10 years now. The songs he composed for film Theevandi became very famous. He composed a romantic track ‘Jeevamshamai’ for the film Theevandi which was released in 2018.
