Bala Bhaskar Chandran was a great Music Director of Mollywood. He gave his music in many Malayalam movies. Bala was born on 10 July 1978. He was an Indian Musician, Singer, Violinist, Composer and record producer. He is best known for bringing fusion music in South India. Bala originally belongs to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. His father’s name is C.K. Unni who was a postmaster and Santhakumari; Sanskrit lecturer of Sree Swathi Thrirunal College of Music. Bala married his girlfriend Lakshmi on 20 December in year 200. Bala had one daughter born on 21 April 2016 and her name is Thejaswini Bala. He lost his daughter on 25 September 2018 when his family met an accident in Pallipuram, near Thiruvananthapuram. Bala comes from a family of musicians; therefore, he was introduced to instrumental music just at the age of three by his uncle B. Sasikumar who is a laureate in Carnatic Music. Bala made music as his profession simply at the age of 12. He is known as the youngest music composer as he made his debut as music director by composing the soundtrack for a Malayalam Film named as MANGALYA PALLAKKU in the year 1998 at just the age of 17. Bala won many awards in his life one of them was Bismillah Khan Yuva Sangeetkar Puraskaar in 2018 by Kendra Sangeet Natak Academy for Instrumental music through Violin. His compositions for some albums like Ninakaai and Aadyamai are remembered as most romantic song collection. Bala was versed in Carnatic music. He is famous for his stage performances. In all his concerts, he never left without mesmerizing the audience with his music and performance. Bala had worked with various famous musicians and instrumentalists including Ustad Zakhir Hussain, Louis Banks, Vikku Vinayakram, Hariharan, Mathannoor Sankarankutty, Ranjit Barot, Fazal Qureshi, and many others. He not only performed in India but also in abroad. He came up on the stage with his Uncle B. Sarikumar who was also his Guru, as violin duo in Carnatic concerts. Balabhaskar made his debut in instrumental fusion through album named Let It B in the year 2011. In his this album, he worked with various renowned musicians including Sivamani, Louis Banks, Fazal Qureshi, Gino banks, and Sheldon D’Silva. This album is a fusion of many types of music. Let It B included rock, jazz, hip-hop and techno music spun around his Indian violin. This album is composed of Sanskrit lyrics; hence; it was an effort to promote Sanskrit language through it. Let It B was produced under the banner of MC Audios and Videos. His project named Bhajati of the year 2011 is marked by audio traces. Through this project, he brought a collection of Soothing Carnatic Keertanas in his style by blending it with International flavors. He was the part of many films, movies, television series and albums in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Sanskrit languages. He worked in many albums. His albums are- Khwabo Ke Parinde in 2016, it was part of a Hindi-musical album- The Big Band, Ambulance, Zahir, Bhajati, Let It B, Pattinde Palazhi, Moksham, Heart Beats, Mazhayilaro, Panchajanyam, Vasantha Gaathangal, Korappan the great, Kannadikkadavathu, Thakadhimitha, Adyamai, No tension Pleeze, Balyasmruthikalay Onam, Ninakkayi, Neeyariyan, and Mangalya Pallakku. For his contributions in Malayalam Music Industry, he received many awards. Balabhaskar got many injuries in a car accident on 24 September 2018; he also lost his daughter in this accident. After lots of treatment and two surgeries when his condition was improving, He lost his life on 28 October 2018 due to cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. The legendary musician died at just the age of 40, but he will always stay alive in our hearts. "


Kailas Menon

Kailas Menon is a Malayalam film industry music composer. He is from Thrissur, Kerala, India. He now lives in Kochi, Kerala. Kailas Menon released his first album titled ‘Snehathode’ at the age of 16. In this album Singer Jyotsana who was one of his classmates sang one of the songs and the other singers were state award winner Asha G Menon, Afsal and Madhu Balakrishnan. His Parents was not convinced initially, but then they started supporting him after seeing his passion for music. After completing his studies in Visual communication and sound engineering in 2007, he started making jingles for various types of ad films. He started his career as an assistant of composer Ouesppachan. Ouesppachan’s keyboard programmer was Gopi Sunder and when his sound engineer left Kailas got his chance to work with him for about two years. At the same time, he got to compose for an ad after which he got to compose for a famous jewelry ad. The jingle got catchy and bought him many other projects after that ad. He has worked for almost 1000 ad films till now. He has worked in 5 different languages, namely Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Arabic and Malayalam. He entered in Mollywood in 2011 with the film Pakarnnattam directed by Jayaraj. Pakarnnattam is award-winning film released in 2011. He has been working for the Malayalam music industry for more than 10 years now. The songs he composed for film Theevandi became very famous. He composed a romantic track ‘Jeevamshamai’ for the film Theevandi which was released in 2018. The song was sung by Shreya Ghoshal and K.S. Harishankar with the eighties feel and it becomes a sensation as soon as it was released. Recently he has launched his own music label called Kailash Menon Productions. He is married to Annapoorna Lekha Pillai.
