. The movie revolves around three bachelors, who are trying to figure out their life in Kerala of 2050, when they encounter a mysterious alien.
The movie released on 21 June 2024, and despite the limited release, succeeded at the box office, earning 2.2 crores worldwide on a budget of almost 1 crore.
‘Gaganachari’ is another example of content oriented movies are nailing it at the Malayalam box office. Since the start of 2024, movies made on a budget less than 10 crores have been making it big at the big office, with the romantic comedy ‘Premalu’ being the biggest example of them all. Made on a budget of just 3 crores, the movie went on to earn more than 130 crores worldwide.
Even a movie like ‘Manjummel Boys’, which became the highest grossing Malayalam movie of all time, was made on a budget of just 20 crores, something almost unimaginable in film industries like Bollywood.
