Shyam Sheetal is a talented actress from the Malayalam film industry. She was born on 3 September 1982 in Thrissur, Kerala. Sheetal's father is an auto driver, and her mother is a housewife. She is a transgender activist. After her studies, she worked in aluminum manufacturing, gold jewelry factory, and construction places. Later, in 2001, she moved to Bangalore.
Sheetal is the first transgender actress in the film industry. Her first big film was Aabhaasam (2018). One of her films, Ka Bodyscapes (2016), directed by Jayan Cherian, is about gay rights in which she played a small role. The film was released at many international film festivals. Her other notable movies are Kirkkan (2023), Pine Core (2023), Moral Nights (2021), and Aapahasyam (2021). She also writes a column in the popular Mathrubhumi weekly. She also fights for the LGBT rights.
