Laya Krishna

Laya Krishna is a former Indian actress and dancer known for her work in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil films. She began as a child artist in the 1992 movie “Bhadram Koduko and later became a lead actress in “Swayamvaram” in 1999. She gained attention as the runner-up in the Star 2000 competition for the film “ Paradesi Click to look into! >> Read More... ,” which earned her a Special Jury Nandi Award.

Laya’s acting skills were remarkable, winning consecutive Nandi Awards for Best Actress for her roles in “ Manoharam Click to look into! >> Read More... ” (2000) and “Preminchu” (2001). Born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, she went to Nirmala High School and had talented parents—her mother was a music teacher, and her father was a doctor. Beyond acting, Laya was a state-level chess player in school. She also performed as a classical dancer in over 50 shows after moving to Hyderabad. Interestingly, she has a bachelor’s degree in computer applications.

In 2006, Laya married Dr. Sri Ganesh Gorty, and they now live in Los Angeles, California, with their daughter and son. Laya also hosted TV shows like “Mega Bangaram Mee Kosam 1 and “Sambavi. Her achievements were recognised with awards like the Nandi Awards, including a Special Jury Award for ”Swayamvaram” and Best Actress awards for “Manoharam” (2000) and “Preminchu” (2001).
