Bengaluru Vijaya Radha was born in 1948 August.BV Radha was born as Rajalakshmi. She quit school to enter cinema to become an actress. She is a former actress and film producer. She started her career in the Kannada film, Navakoti Narayana in 1964 , she went on to play mostly supporting characters, sometimes as leading and villain roles in more than three hundred films, majority of movies which came in Kannada, and the rest in Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Tulu and Tamil.
BV Radha made her debut in the Kannada film Navakoti Narayana in 1964 that had Rajkumar in the lead role. Later She went on to act alongside top actors in the south Indian film industry in the 60s and 70s, such as N. T.

She married national award winning film director K. S. L. Swamy, who as directed successful movies such as 'Bhagya Jyothi' and 'Malaya Marutha'. Following her career in cinema, she also associated herself with her troupe, Natavranda with theatre and performing plays.BV Radha was awarded the Kanaka Ratna Award by Kaginele Kanaka Guru Peetha for her contribution to theatre and cinema in 2010.
