Ishita Malaviya is India’s first professional surfer. She was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and begin surfing in 2007 after meeting a German exchange student. In the coastal Karnataka area, she runs a camp called Camp Namaloha and she also runs a surf club named Shaka Surf Club. In 2014, she is the only Indian appointed as a brand ambassador for Roxy Surfwear.
She aims to promote the Indian coastline as an International surfing destination which made her list under Forbes 30 Under 30 list of Asia in 2014. She is also having a degree in journalism.
