Amrutha Ramamurthy Kannada Actress

Amrutha Ramamurthy or Amrutha Ramamoorthi is a Kannada film and television actress, who starred as Megha on Zee Kannada’s television serial, Megha Mayuri. After finishing a degree in journalism, Amrutha started her career as a journalist and has worked in some regional news channel. She shifted to event management but landed on entertainment and has now become one of the most prominent faces on Kannada TV. She said it was never her dream to become an actress.

The distance of her work from her home made her quit her job and this is when her neighbor suggested trying her luck in the entertainment industry. She auditioned and luckily passed. She replaces another actress who played the role of Vachana in the drama serial, Kulavadhu, aired on Colors Kannada. This television serial has brought her recognition and fame. Amrutha was debuted in the big screen with Srinivas Gowda’s H/34 Pallavi Talkies, a Kannada suspense thriller film, based on real life incident that happened inside a theater.

Though she already acted on the big screen, she honestly believes that working in television serial is an advantage for a starter like her. Amrutha was also cast in the comedy-drama serial, Mr. and Mrs. Rangegowda and Star MAA’s drama serial, Kutumba Gouravam. She signs her next film, Psycho Shankara, a biographical film, which was based on the life of Jai Shankar, a notorious Indian criminal. She was initially hesitant to accept the film, but after hearing the story and her character, she accepted the offer. Because of her naturally curly hair, she became popular as the “curly-haired queen of drama.” Besides acting, Amrutha is also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and an aspiring playback singer.
