Madan Patel was earlier a part of BJP but then later joined the Congress party. Mayur also has a sister - Chinmayi Patel, who is married to Samrat Sundareshan since 2014.

Mayur embarked his acting career with the Kannada movie, Andhra Hendthi. He played a minor role in this film. Mayur essayed the character of Sathya, who wanted to be a singer but ended up becoming a criminal. Udess failed to impress the audience.

Mayur went ahead to work in movies like ‘Student’, Ninade Nenapu, Hetthavara Kanasu, ‘Muniya’, and ‘Hunja’. Ninade Nenapu was a romantic movie which featured Mayur in a pivotal role.
