Gangadhar is a yesteryear Kannada actor. Rajendrakumar is another name of Gangadhar. He has over 80 movies to his credit. Born on 1936, Gangadhar pursued Diploma in Mechanical and HAL. While in HAL he worked in stage plays such as Echamanayaka, Samsare Nauke and Vijayotsava. G V Iyer selected him for one of his films; the film Chowkada Deepa (1969) was the first film in which he played the role of a lead actor. This is the production venture of Sharada Films. But it was the 1967 flick Lagna Pathrike which is his first film. 

The 1970 flick Gejje Pooje gained him accolades and the direction of this film was helmed by Puttana Kanagal. This film, which is adapted from a novel by M K Indira, focused on the issues of prostitutes. Nanna Tamma, Sharapanjara, Aliya Geleya Bhale and Adrushtavo Adrushta are few of his noteworthy films. 

Gangadhar has various awards to his credit such as the Rajyotsva Award. Palegara, Rashmi, Central Rowdy, Ekalavya, Sri Satyanarayana Pooja Phala, Karna, Jeevakke Jeeva, Bhaktha Prahlada, Ranganayaki, Nyaya Neethi Dharma, Guru Sarvabhowma Sri Raghavendra Karune, Attege Thakka Sose, Mutthu Ondu Mutthu, and Seetha are some of the films in which Gangadhar acted. Gangadhar breathed his last on 27 December, 2003 owing to continued illness.
