Venshi Ravindra is a famous Kannada director. He was born in the small village Valagere, near Nanjanagud, Mysore, Karnataka. He initially worked as an assistant director in serials. After having worked as an assistant director, and writer for numerous movies, he thought of his first film Nirakutra in 2010. It is a fifteen-minute short film about old age people. Some other movies which Venshi Ravindra has directed are Mata, Vasanthi Nalidaga, Varnamaya, Putani Safari, and March 23: Anti-Corruption Day. As a writer, his first published book in the Kannada language is "nodale bekada noorondu kannada chitragalu”. He is a film critic too, who has watched twenty-six hundred Kannada movies, and a book, “101 Kannada Films to watch before you Die” Other books written by him include Classu Massu Beda Gelaya Nantige Hesaru, Kesha Kattarisikolluva Pari, and others.
