Ekta Kapoor To Be Booked Under POCSO?

After a below average year in terms of content, the much talked about producer is in legal trouble. A POCSO case has been slapped against her and her mother Shobhaa Ravi Kapoor for extreme vulgarity in three series streamed on the controversial OTT app Alt Balaji.

According to the recent reports, a local court in Borivali has ordered a case to be registered under POCSO guidelines against Ekta Kapoor, Shobhaa R Kapoor and everyone related to the Alt Balaji for three web series : Gandi Baat, Class of 2017, Class of 2020. This was done after a police complaint was filed against them on the basis of vulgar content streamed on the app.

According to the complaint, the concerned programs showed actors in school uniforms performing obscene acts, with some of them allegedly being minor. This was not only unacceptable, but it also threatened to normalize the trend of vulgarity.

Ektaa Kapoor is not having a good time commercially either. Neither of her shows are performing very well, and except for one or two of her movies, most of the films released under Balaji Motion Pictures have tanked at the box office in the last three years. Except for ‘Dream Girl 2’ and ‘Crew’, not even one film managed to earn the tag of a commercial success!
