Tanvi Azmi is a multi-faceted media personality with her main area of concentration being acting in serials, movies and theatres. She can also be termed largely as a theatre personality. Tanvi Azmi (Nee Kher) was born in a Hindu Marathi Family to doctor parents Dr. and Dr. Manohar Kher. She was brought up in a very liberated way and was well educated by her [parents whom according to Tanvi instilled a sense of liberty, self-confidence and individuality in her since her childhood days and thus has helped her to shape her in the person she is today. Tanvi Azmi aspired to be an actress since her childhood days but it is only upon completion of her studies, she started to take acting seriously and took it as a career option. After theatres, Tanvi Azmi started her career on Hindi television channels with Doordarshan’s landmark Hindi television serial Jeevanrekha where she portrayed the character of a stressed, depressed and troubled medical practitioner who has lost all hopes in life. Through the portrayal of this character, Tanvi Azmi emerged as a strong actress. After this she went to appear in many Television serials and mini tele series before turning into Hindi films. Tanvi Azmi is married to , the ace cinematographer and hence became a member of the veteran Azmi-Akhtar family. Some of the notable films in which Tanvi Azmi appeared are Yeh jawani hai diwani, Anjaana anjaani, Aarakshan, , Aurangzeb, Delhi -6, etc. She is to appear in a pivotal role of Peshwa Baji Rao 1’s mother in ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film which is a love story of Peshwa Baji Rao the first and his second wife Mastani.
