Yana Gupta, previously addressed as Jana Synkova, was born on 23 April, 1979, in Brno, Czech Republic. She has a citizenship of Czech Republic, which means she is European. She has a good knowledge of languages and knows languages like English, Hindi, Czech, Spanish and Japanese. Yana started her career at the age of 16 in the 1990's in the modeling field. After her graduation from Park Architecture and Gardening, she went to Japan, started modeling there for a considerable period of time. Then she moved to India, while looking for more projects to work on. In India, she fell in love with Satyakam Gupta and changed her last name from Synkova to Gupta. After getting married, she moved to Pune. But in spite of being married, her quest for modeling projects went on in Mumbai. Soon, she modeled for Limca, MTV, and Lakme. She even worked for brands like Nivea and Shiseido. She was also named as the new face for Lakme cosmetics in India in 2001, after replacing former model, Lisa Ray.

Though she is divorced now, her plans are to stay in India and to plan the launch of her very own album in English.Yana also finds her hobby in playing piano, flute, dancing, aerobics, health, fitness and computers.
