Jimmy Shergill

Jimmy Shergill is a renowned Indian actor and producer in the big screen, known for working predominantly in Punjabi and Hindi movies. He was born in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh in India on December 3, 1972 to a Sikh family. His real name is Jasjit Singh Gill, the son of the popular painter, Satyajit Singh Shergill. He studied at St. Francis College in Lucknow in his early years before he shifted to Punjab and studied at The Punjab Public School. He also attended Bikram and Nabha College and Patiala’s Punjabi University. Jimmy has learned to act through his guru, Sri Harpal Singh. He went to Mumbai to pursue his career as an actor.

He started acting in the year 1996 through the critically acclaimed Hindi film, Maachis, a film that is based on the Punjab terrorism. This film made a positive result at the box office, and he got noticed by top filmmakers, which eventually led him to appear in Aditya Chopra’s multi-starrer musical romantic drama film, Mohabbatein.
