(1984), Guiding Light (1952), and General Hospital (1963) are some of Bridget Dobson's best-known works. Bridget and Jerome are well-known for their work as the head writing duo for various soap operas through their company, Dobson Productions, as well as for their work as lead writers of the NBC serial opera Santa Barbara. In the early 1970s, Bridget began writing screenplays for General Hospital, and Jerome soon joined her. They were nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards under the categories (1976 and 1978) Best Writing, Guiding Light, and (1987) Best Writing, Santa Barbara. They won the Writers Guild of America Award for Guiding Light (1980 season) and Santa Barbara (1992 season).
