Cynthia Watros’ presence on a string of soaps, operas, and commercials since a very long time might exactly be the reason why the ‘Finding Carter’ star looks familiar to every television aficionado. An American, Cynthia Watros was born on September 2, 1968, to electrical engineer Bruce, and legal secretary Nancy in Lake Orion, Michigan. Cynthia graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts in Theatre.

Before this, she had been to Maycomb County College in Michigan. Her elder brother Steven is an electrical engineer. She married Curtis Gilliland in 1996, and they have twin daughters named Emma Rose and Sadie Anna. To put it in her words, the journey for Cynthia had begun when she had been in school.

Acting on an impulse, Cynthia had gone to audition, got the part, and landed a scholarship for attending the Boston University for a professional training program in theater. Taking a look at her acting journey, Cynthia’s acting career began with some part roles and commercials. Her career saw a high when she landed a role in the television series ‘Guiding Light’ from 1994-1998. The show gave her popularity and also brought her first award. She was awarded the Daytime Emmy Award, and got nominated for the Soap Opera Digest award for ‘Guiding Light.’ During this time she also appeared in some other films and TV soaps. In 2000, Cynthia bagged the role of ‘Erin Fitzpatrick’ in the popular series ‘Titus,’ lasting 54 episodes. Titus brought Cynthia more admirers and varied opportunities, guest appearances in TV shows and films alike. After a short stint at ‘The Drew Carey Show,’ she was part of the successful series ‘Lost’ from 2005-2006, playing the character of the mysterious psychologist ‘Libby Smith.’

She reappeared on the show in the later seasons in 2008 and 2010. In 2013-2014, Watros started doing soap operas when she got to work on ‘The Young and the Restless.’ She also did a self-scripted short web series titled ‘Cynthia Watros Gets Lost’ where she plays herself.
