She has seven older half-siblings. Rashad is Debbie Allen’s niece. She graduated from the California Institute of the Arts in 2008. She got engaged to Billions' co-star Sebastian VallentinStenhøj in 2017. She is best known for her stage roles. She made her debut with Stick Fly, a Broadway play. Rashad first broke out with a critically-acclaimed performance in Lynn Nottage's off-Broadway play Ruined, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama (2009).
She also won the Theatre World Award for the Best Debut Performance and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award.
